ROMA. Il presidente della FIP Dino Meneghin, appresa la notizia della prematura scomparsa di Pino Brumatti, commosso e colpito a titolo personale e a nome del Consiglio federale, della Federazione Italiana Pallacanestro e dei suoi impiegati e dei tesserati, ha espresso il più profondo cordoglio alla famiglia.
Il presidente Meneghin ha disposto, inoltre, che si tenga un minuto di silenzio su tutti i campi per ricordarlo ed onorarne la memoria.
La FIP, lo scorso giugno, lo aveva insignito della Italia Basket Hall Of Fame, il più alto riconoscimento federale.
Pino Brumatti è stato uno dei giocatori simbolo dell’Olimpia Milano negli Settanta. Con l’Olimpia ha vinto uno scudetto (1972), una Coppa Italia (1972) e tre Coppe delle Coppe (1971, 1972, 1976). In serie A ha giocato 489 partite e segnato 6.894 punti. Con la maglia della Nazionale 102 presenze e 570 punti.
