PIENZA. La città di Pienza sarà sede di un progetto di sperimentazione per curare il cancro del cipresso, albero simbolo del paesaggio locale. E’ stato questo uno degli argomenti al centro del seminario dedicato al cipresso e al paesaggio, organizzato dall’amministrazione provinciale di Siena in collaborazione con il CNR e con l’IPP, Istituto per la Protezione delle Piante, che si è svolto nei giorni scorsi nella sala convegni del Comune della cittadina valdorciana. Il dibattito, ricco di interventi su varie tematiche riguardanti il cipresso, ha visto la presenza di trentacinque partecipanti, che sono stati ospiti di un buffet offerto dall’amministrazione comunale.“Grazie alla collaborazione con l’amministrazione provinciale – afferma l’assessore al turismo del Comune di Pienza Claudio Serafini – sono stati impiantati di recente nel nostro territorio nuovi cipressi, che saranno oggetto di sperimentazione per la cura e la prevenzione del cancro che colpisce frequentemente i nostri alberi. E’ per noi un grande piacere poter collaborare con l’amministrazione provinciale per valorizzare e difendere le nostre risorse paesaggistiche, che da qualche anno vantano il riconoscimento di patrimonio mondiale dell’umanità e sono fonte di turismo e ricchezza economica”.
“Significativo – prosegue Serafini –è anche il lavoro che il nostro territorio sta portando avanti con l’amministrazione provinciale su vari fronti nel settore dell’agricoltura, a cominciare dai progetti che riguardano le produzioni tipiche del territorio, come il pecorino di Pienza e il vino della Val d’Orcia. Auspichiamo che questa sinergia possa proseguire e dare, nel tempo, sempre ottimi risultati”.
